Reporting directly to MASSIVart’s Head of Project Management, the Project Manager is responsible for the success of projects from their inception to the final deliverable. Being the interface between the client and the internal and external resources, the Project Manager gives as much importance to the client service as to their communications with the suppliers or teams they manage.

This role involves a wide range of activities requiring clear communication, excellent organizational and problem solving skills, and superior attention to details. The Project Manager will work well under pressure, meeting tight deadlines while ensuring smooth and efficient execution of projects.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with and report to the Head of Art and Design and assist with the management of junior creative and design team members
  • Ensure that creative output is innovative or exceeds client’s expectations
  • Work closely with the strategic planning department and creative team on the inclusion of urban design and planning trends, placemaking, sustainability, etc.
  • Innovative conceptual and design skills, with aesthetic flair
  • Strong ability to prepare, develop edit creative proposal and strategic plans including: drawings and models as they relate to the project
  • Develop engaging narratives and communicate the creative vision to clients
  • Generate detailed 3D models to develop all parts of the changing design process
  • Work closely with the project management department to meet deadlines and deliverables

 

Essential Skills:

  • Strategic creative thinker with the desire to challenge norms, push boundaries and explore new territories
  • A keen eye and attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to take initiative in response to direction from Project Managers, Directors and Partners
  • A team player, with a flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working and collaborating
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English – spoken and written
  • Excellent ability in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Suite or Grasshopper and V-Ray
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. French skills are also an advantage.
  • Solid knowledge of products, materials, zoning / building codes and construction methods
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Knowledge and appreciation of public art projects, and place making approach to public environments

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Completion of accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture or related field of study
    Architecture license (preferred)
  • 5-7+ years of experience in an architect or design firm.
  • Experience within urban/master planning and design projects
  • Experience working on public and private realm projects, including both the horizontal (street, landscape, public space design, urban furniture), and vertical (architecture, massing and permanent or temporary façade articulation) and being able to bridge multiple disciplines at the same time.

  • Development of budgets with a focus on project profitability
  • Develop and monitor deliverable timelines and ensure that they are met

  • Identify efficiencies and strategic actions to facilitate the execution of a project
  • Anticipate potential issues and challenges and prevent them

The Account Manager will support the Toronto Managing Partner and Head of Client Relationships by taking on various tasks involved with procurement of new and returning clients and projects. We’re looking for a strategic thinker with excellent client service and communication skills. This person develops a deep understanding of clients’ business needs and objectives and provides strategy-led plans in collaboration with the agency’s Creative and Production teams. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Planning, this role primarily supports strategic planning tasks for projects and consulting mandates with research analysis and data collection, content development and writing, stakeholder and community engagement, and contributing to RFPs and proposals. The Cultural Planner will support the Director of Strategic Planning in developing strategic approaches for projects as well as collaborate with internal teams as required to coordinate research tasks and content development. This role will also play an active role in planning, organizing, and executing stakeholder interview processes and community engagement activities.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support in developing strategic approaches for project proposals and strategic consulting mandates
  • Support the development of critical paths/work plans for projects by outlining project phases, milestones, client touchpoints, and key deliverables
  • Support the development of table of contents for project phases that outline key sections and deliverables/outcomes
  • Research best practices and benchmarks for placemaking initiatives and public art policies, frameworks, and strategies
  • Research project context details and relevant site location information to develop written content for current context deliverables
  • Prepare written copy for project deliverables and presentation decks as required
  • Identify KPIs and metrics for success and incorporate them into project strategies for project analysis and impact evaluation
  • Coordinate and execute public space data collection, placemaking measurement surveys, and project impact assessment tasks (space audits, surveying, metrics and KPI identification)
  • Prepare and conduct stakeholder interviews to gather key insights for creative strategy development
  • Plan, organize, and facilitate the execution of community outreach and engagement events and activities.
  • Perform site visits as required for data collection, surveying, or measuring project impacts.
  • Support Business Development team in responding to RFPs by writing content for proposals (project plans, work plans and methodology sections)

 

Skills required:

  • Post-Secondary education or proven experience in public art policy, cultural programming, urban planning/architecture, or related field
  • Experience in Arts & Culture program delivery or Municipal Public Art policy is an asset
