Providing art-driven activities for visitors | MASSIVart - Art Integration

In their four shopping centres across Western Canada, JLL West was looking for a fresh way to ring in the upcoming Back-to-School season and provide an art-driven activity for the communities they serve. Wanting their visitors to fully express their creativity, the Doodle Classrooms pop-up art activation has become an opportunity to collaborate and bring excitement to the new school year.

JLL West teamed up with MASSIVart to develop, curate, create and produce Doodle Classrooms. Bringing a breath of creativity into JLL West Shopping Centres, these immersive installations pull inspiration from the classroom environment. The installations offer a unique opportunity for visitors and families to take pictures and create memories. The activation features a self-supported classroom with whimsical line-work illustrations that visitors can colour in and interact with.

The illustrations in the classroom were created by the talented Canadian artist Tierney Milne. Working closely with MASSIVart during the curation and design phase of the integration, Milne’s Doodle Classroom is perfect for children (and inner-children) to express themselves and make the classroom a place for collective creativity and imagination. The art activation welcomes the community to create memorable moments making JLL Wests’ shopping centres even more of a destination for the back-to-school season.

Placed in 4 shopping centres across Western Canada; Guildford Town Centre in Surrey, BC, Metropolis at Metrotown in Burnaby, BC, Cross Iron Mills in Calgary, and Outlet Collection in Winnipeg, the installations have taken on a life of their own and are loved by their communities. MASSIVart is proud to be a part of an activation that creates an opportunity for communities to connect with their own creativity and share their enthusiasm for the coming year.

The Doodle Classroom installations are open for playtime until September 5th, 2022.
