Redefining the Passenger Experience Through Art and Culture
Stakeholder Management - Production Management - Design Build & Art Installation
Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is undergoing a historic $9 billion expansion, its largest investment since the airport’s opening in 1974. MASSIVart is proud to collaborate with DFW to redefine the passenger experience by integrating impactful art into the airport’s modernization.
Over the next six years, MASSIVart will work closely with DFW to enhance the travel experience through innovative art integrations. Spanning multiple phases from 2024 to 2030, both permanent and temporary artworks will be commissioned to bring bold and inspiring creations to the airport environment. These works will be selected through a series of open calls, highlighting local, national, and international artists and celebrating the rich cultural diversity of the Dallas Fort Worth region.
This visionary initiative encompasses the redesign of an existing terminal, the creation of a brand-new terminal, and updates to others, aiming to establish DFW as a global destination for public art.
DFW’s expansion goes beyond infrastructure, embracing art as a powerful tool to inspire, calm, and connect. A series of 18 permanent and temporary artworks will transform key spaces across the airport, including:
These projects will showcase a diverse range of artists—emerging and established, local and international—reflecting the cultural vibrancy of the Dallas Fort Worth region and beyond.
To ensure a rich and authentic representation, MASSIVart formed an Art Committee of local art experts from renowned institutions such as the Nasher Sculpture Center, the Kimball Art Museum, the Dallas Museum of Art, and the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. This collaboration blends North Texas’s cultural identity with global creativity, elevating DFW as a beacon for public art. For more information, visit DFW’s website.
