Following the major transformation at the Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth Hotel by Ivanhoé Cambridge, MASSIVart was appointed to acquire and integrate artworks as a part of the hotel’s permanent art collection, as well as shine a spotlight on emerging artists. The close collaboration between the Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth, MASSIVart, Ivanhoe Cambridge and Sid Lee Architecture resulted in this museum-quality collection that positions the hotel as a premier destination in Montreal’s artistic ecosystem. Under the supervision of Arthur Gaillard, chief curator at MASSIVart, 123 artworks were curated for the Queen Elizabeth, including custom work for the venue’s restaurant, bespoke installations for creative meeting rooms and signature artwork for the front lobby amongst many other common spaces in the spectacular landmark hotel.
