MASSIVart’s Creative Placemaking and Exhibition Design Projects Win Two Prestigious Design Awards

An exciting and rewarding way to start the new year!

MASSIVart is honoured to have won two prestigious awards for two of our major projects: “Jardin des Espoirs” Winter Station and the Musée de la Gaspésie new permanent exhibition at the 15th edition of the International Design Awards. The annual awards attract thousands of impressive submissions from designers around the world.

Evaluating submissions from more than 80 countries, members of the IDA jury commented on the incredibly high standard of design entries across the five Award disciplines – Architecture, Interior, Product, Graphic and Fashion Design.

As Jill Grinda, VP Marketing and Business Development for the IDA, explained: “We saw a large number of designers reflecting on the current state of the world including the pandemic, social distancing, sustainability, climate change and circular economies were clearly evident. The jury had an enormous task in selecting the winners from some truly outstanding design submissions. The IDA has always been about seeking out truly visionary designers showcasing creativity and innovation.”

At MASSIVart, we value accessible art, creating resilient and sustainable communities, building engaging destinations and cultural heritage. We are proud that the positive impact we wanted to create with our collaborators has been noticed.

“Designers have more social responsibility than ever since we need to tackle large complex systemic challenges adapting the state-of-art technologies. Hence, International Design Awards (IDA) provides a great open platform that goes beyond just a design award to empower designers to explore, act, and share their social innovative projects,” remarked Jury member Sheng-Hung Lee, Designer and Engineer, MIT and IDSA Boston Vice-Chair.

Thank you to our first-time clients as well as to our repeating, loyal clients, partners, collaborators and artists for helping us make our mission a reality and for being part of the positive impact art and culture have on society. 2021 showed us this impact is more important than ever.
